Welcome to the City of Walker

Waste Management has moved the recycle bin that was located at City Hall to Ball Park Road on the right past the City of Walker DPW building (13740 Ball Park Road). Please remember, that this is a RECYCLE BIN not a garbage dumpster. No garbage, food, furniture, toys, chemicals, etc. allowed in the recycle bin. Once the bin is contaminated with items other than those that are recyclable, Waste Management cannot recycle the items and must be brought to the dump to dispose of. There will be video surveillance at the site of the recycle bin and violators will be prosecuted. We appreciate your understanding!

Please check out the list of items allowed...

Walker Parks baseball, softball and t-ball fields will be CLOSED to the public beginning Monday, July 17, 2017 until further notice for repairs and renovations! Walker Parks will NOT be hosting any fall ball this year due to the repairs and renovations being done. During this time the new Challenger's Field will also be built. Ballpark Road entrance WILL be closed during this time. The Corbin Avenue entrances will remain open and this will be the ONLY access to the playground area, the walking trail, soccer fields and the pond.

Thank you for your cooperation as we do these repairs and renovations.

Waste Management has re-routed the Livingston Parish area garbage collection.  Those citizens living within the City of Walker city limits experiencing missed pick-ups, especially entire streets, please call the City of Walker at (225) 665-2467 to report and schedule a pick up.   Garbage pick-up will remain on Thursdays.
