For those residents who reside within the City Limits of Walker that have debris in their yards that the debris trucks could not access, are asked to fill out the authorization form allowing the debris contractors to enter private property to remove the debris.  Please click here for the form and return to City Hall by dropping it off at 10136 Florida Blvd., by fax at (225) 667-9075 or email to Lisa Frey.

TEMPORARY HOUSING ALLOWED

Despite what current neighborhood restrictions are, due to the August 2016 flooding and damaged homes, the City of Walker has approved temporary housing on a resident’s property/lot. “Recreational vehicles, i.e. campers as well as mobile homes/mobile trailers will be allowed for temporary housing for up to six (6) months from the date of this resolution as long as progress is being made toward the rebuilding of the dwelling.”

If unsure of what you can place on your property, please feel free to call City Hall at (225) 665-4356.

FEMA and SBA representatives will be at Sidney Hutchinson Park daily from 8:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.

Please remember Walker now has new voting districts.  For the upcoming election (November 8, 2016) there will be 1 council person per district and 2 at large to be elected so each person will need to vote for the 1 council person in their own district then the 2 at large.

Check your district boundaries on the map. There will be a large map at City Hall as well.

If you need help determining where to vote you can look it up online at https://voterportal.sos.la.gov/ or contact the

Registrar of Voters at (225) 686-3054
